The Professional School for The Study of Law invites applications and nominations for a Visiting Assistant Professor of Law to teach during the 2024-2025 academic year. Our curricular needs include: Business Organizations, Contracts, Evidence, Torts, and related elective courses. Candidates must be available to teach in-person.

This position is a nine-month visiting position, beginning in the Fall of 2024 with the possibility of one additional nine-month term. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching four courses: two courses during the fall semester and two courses the spring semester.

The Professional School for The Study of Law is the only law school serving West Virginia and has established a place among the nation's leading public law schools. Service is the cornerstone of our mission as a land-grant institution. The College has been recognized among the nation's top law schools for public interest programs and practical training. The College is located in Morgantown, ranked one of the top small cities in the country and easily accessible to Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Columbus, Baltimore, and Washington, DC.

Required Qualifications:
Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience teaching in legal education.
  • Evidence of significant practical experience in an area of curricular need.

Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination of experience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the essential job functions.
