Position Description:
An Organization Provides Free Civil Legal Advice, in Plantation Florida, seeks an experienced immigration attorney to serve as Supervisor of the Immigration Unit. The Supervisor of the Immigration Unit is responsible for training and guiding other attorneys and supporting staff and requires someone willing to be a mentor to others and handle a caseload for their own as well. Position opened immediately.

Qualifications:
  • Active membership in the Florida State Bar;
  • Candidate must have at least 5-7 years of experience in immigration law including, but not limited to, VAWA, U-VISA, Removal Defense including for those detained, asylum, immigration services to unaccompanied minors including asylum and special immigrant juvenile status;
  • Experience serving low-income communities preferred but not required;
  • A demonstrable awareness and sensitivity to the needs of the populations we serve is necessary;
  • Ability to work effectively with a large caseload and function professionally within a highly stressful environment;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Ability to work independently at times and also as an effective part of a team, including other attorneys, support staff, volunteers, and community partners;
  • Excellent written and communication skills;
  • The ability to speak more than one language is a plus; and
  • A willingness to, at times, work beyond a minimum seven-hour workday, including evenings and weekends
