Description:

Under the direction of the General Counsel, represents A Mass Transportation System and its employees in property damage, subrogation, and personal injury matters in various forums; and handles other duties as assigned. Travel to Cook and its collar counties is required.

Qualifications:
Must have a valid Illinois driver's license with a good driving record. Must have a bachelor's degree and juris doctor degree. Must be licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois, admitted to the Illinois State Bar, have a minimum of 5 years' previous work experience prosecuting and/or defending personal injury cases, prior jury trial experience is preferred, and must have a good work record, including attendance. Must have excellent reading comprehension, research, and verbal and written communication skills. Must be a highly organized, detail oriented, and resourceful team player. Must be able to successfully and efficiently work on numerous projects simultaneously in order to meet deadlines. Must be a highly skilled negotiator who demonstrates strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills and must demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality. Must have strong computer skills, including using Westlaw and be proficient using Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Adobe, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint. This position is subject to the provisions set forth in 5 ILCS 430/5-45 (c) of the State Officials and Employee Ethics Act.
