Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Corporate Counsel to work independently or at the direction of the Chief Legal Officer in support of the legal needs of the Company and its affiliates. This is a generalist role. Senior Corporate Counsel will handle a variety of responsibilities including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and other legal documents, representing the Company and affiliates on financing and other transactions including securitizations, corporate legal administration and providing legal advice to Company personnel on a range of corporate, transactional, litigation and other issues. This position will be based in our Atlanta, Georgia office, subject to our company hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts, documents and agreements including client and vendor agreements, transactional documents, and employment-related documents
  • Represent the Company in financing transactions including leveraged loan facilities and securitizations
  • Oversee certain internal legal functions
  • Provide legal support and advice to management and other personnel
  • Participate in corporate legal administration
  • Manage responses to subpoenas and oversee outside counsel on litigation matters
  • Perform research to obtain knowledge necessary to handle assigned projects
  • Maintain law license and increase level of expertise in practice areas
  • Balance multiple projects and requests at any one time

Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of full-time law firm and in house legal practice with a focus on CRE finance
  • Experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating service and vendor agreements
  • Juris Doctorate and undergraduate college degree
  • Actively licensed and in good standing in Georgia or able to waive into Georgia;
  • Strong analytical, drafting, review and organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Work effectively as a team contributor on collaborative assignments
  • Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with others
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word, and Power Point.

Desirable Qualifications:
Experience with CRE loan servicing, CRE securitizations and/or CRE workouts

Experience with CRE finance in the UK, EU or Australia
