About the role:
The Senior Corporate Counsel, Employment Law will partner cross-functionally across geographies and be primarily responsible for providing legal advice and counsel to ensure employment law compliance at the federal and state level. This position will work primarily in the U.S., but will have exposure globally as well.

This role will partner closely with the human resources, employee benefits, and other business teams, while forming part of a collaborative legal department that is valued for its practical advice. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong judgment, a broad range of employment and employee benefits experience, and an eagerness to be involved in a dynamic company.

What You'll Do:
  • Provide legal advice and counsel in partnership with the Associate General Counsel to partner with the Human Resources and Employee Benefits teams on a broad range of labor and employment law matters including, but not limited to, the hiring process, compensation, employee relations, background checks, discipline and termination, diversity and inclusion, accommodations, leaves of absences, employee benefits.
  • Conduct research as needed to provide relevant advice.
  • Proactively monitor legislation, regulations, governmental orders, and emerging trends in Labor and Employment law.
  • Coordinate with relevant business teams to timely identify and implement recommended policies and practices.
  • Draft, review, and revise agreements, policies, practices, and processes as it relates to Human Resources, Employee Benefits, and Code of Conduct matters, and partner with relevant stakeholders to support implementation.
  • Support corporate investigations and employee relations investigations.
  • Provide support and counsel with an eye toward minimizing outside counsel expense and meeting budget.
  • Advise senior executives to influence decision making.

What you will need to succeed:
Basic Qualifications:
  • J.D. Degree
  • 6+ years of relevant post-graduate professional employment law experience
  • Admitted, active, and in good standing in at least one U.S. state
  • Ability to travel to clients and FTI office(s) as needed

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience at a leading law firm and/or in-house
  • Ability to effectively counsel internal clients by providing clear, concise and pragmatic advice
  • Ability to operate autonomously or work collaboratively with other members of the Legal Department
