Minimum Qualifications for This Position Include the Following Required Entry Level Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of State of Florida Contracting Laws.
  • Knowledge of Florida Administrative Procedures Act.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Either Westlaw or Lexis/nexis Legal Research Tools.

Brief Description of Duties:
The Contracts & Rulemaking Section Represents Dfs and Its 13 Divisions with Contract Drafting, Amending, Editing, and Negotiating to Ensure Compliance with Applicable State and Federal Laws. Attorneys in This Section Play a Key Role in Competitive Solicitations Pursuant to Chapters 120 and 287, Florida Statutes, by Providing Legal Counsel to The Contracting Divisions and The Office of Purchasing and Contractual Services. the Attorneys Also Handle All Aspects of Rule Promulgation Pursuant to Chapter 120, Florida Statutes, for The Department Including Drafting, Analysis, Legal Research, Conducting Workshops and Hearings, and Managing Rule Challenges.
