Description:

The Senior Associate General Counsel, Legal Strategy, will be responsible for identifying, developing and executing key legal strategies to advance company priorities. This team member will need to have demonstrated ability to independently identify practical legal solutions to complex challenges, a strong focus on executing goals and the ability to influence others to drive creative solutions to complex legal challenges in the life sciences and pharmaceutical regulatory environment. The role will have an emphasis on emerging challenges in the U.S. pricing, reimbursement and access ecosystem; however, there will be the opportunity to evolve the role to have a broader and more global focus.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proactively lead the development of strategies and initiatives prioritized by senior leaders as having enterprise impact and involving external environment shaping, high ambiguity and complex combination of initiatives to solve.
  • Strategies will often be cross-functional and include partnering with Government Affairs to shape external stakeholders like government agencies, industry associations, industry coalitions and third parties in the healthcare ecosystem.
  • Determine prioritization, timeline and resourcing needs for strategic initiatives and gain senior leader alignment.
  • Drive cross-functional team execution and progress.
  • Develop lines of communication with internal subject matter experts and key business counterparts to inform strategic initiatives and help build cohesive An American Publicly Traded Biopharmaceutical Company strategies.
  • Work to consistently strengthen and improve agility, prioritization and innovative thinking within An American Publicly Traded Biopharmaceutical Company Legal organization and key cross-functional partners.
  • Significant Work Activities -Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day)

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Law degree from an ABA accredited law school and in good standing with the state bar of the jurisdiction in which your office will be located (or ability to gain licensure in the state in which your office will be located).
  • 12+ years of experience with a focus on life sciences, some in-house experience preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, leadership, and influence skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Must be enthusiastic and resilient in finding solutions to complex challenges.
  • Must have an understanding of the external environment and the stakeholders that shape it.
  • Comfort taking on high-visibility, high-impact projects with exposure to senior leaders.
  • Adept at coordinating and facilitating cross-functional efforts and gaining alignment from internal and external stakeholders.
