A Corporate, Real Estate Law Firm represents major international companies and closely held businesses in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, human resources and all litigation, arbitration and mediation needs. The Firm provides the breadth and depth of legal services typically required by business entities and principals, including advanced estate planning, and tax advocacy. The Firm has wide experience representing major shopping center landlords, real estate developers, automotive dealer associations, auto and recreational vehicle dealerships and auto advisory services.

Position Overview:
A Corporate, Real Estate Law Firm is seeking an experienced Employment Attorney with six (6) to twelve (12) years of comprehensive expertise in navigating the complexities of the employer/employee relationship. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in various legal aspects, including wage and hour laws, California Fair Employment & Housing Act (FEHA), Title VII, protected and unprotected leave administration, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This role demands proactive involvement in administrative hearings, interfacing with entities such as the EEOC, CRD (DFEH), and/or the Labor Board.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Legal Counsel and Representation:
    • Independently or collaboratively represent clients in meetings, negotiations, and legal proceedings.
    • Manage multiple legal matters concurrently with autonomy and efficiency.
    • Allocate assignments among associates and support staff effectively.
    • Develop case theories and prepare comprehensive memorandums.
    • Conduct due diligence on legal matters pertaining to contracts and agreements.
    • Provide regular progress reports to Senior Management.
  • Client Management:
    • Consult with Managing Partner and Practice Group Leaders to manage client relationships effectively.
    • Cultivate strong rapport with clients through consistent communication and clear explanation of legal proceedings.
    • Gain in-depth understanding of client businesses, economic drivers, and sector requirements to deliver relevant advice.
  • Business Development:
    • Actively participate in business development and marketing initiatives to expand the practice.
    • Prospect for new clients through networking, marketing efforts, and participation in industry events.
    • Contribute to the Firm's values through involvement in Corporate Social Responsibility and pro-bono activities.
    • Mentor associate attorneys and legal assistants to enhance their capabilities and skills.

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing of the California State Bar.
  • Six (6) to twelve (12) years of experience in employment law, with a focus on advising clients on various employment-related issues.
  • Thorough understanding of wage and hour laws, FEHA, Title VII, ADA, and other relevant employment statutes.
  • Experience with administrative hearings, EEOC proceedings, CRD (DFEH), and/or Labor Board matters is highly desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly.
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with impeccable attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and Lexis/Nexis.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage workload efficiently.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining client relationships.
