As Product Counsel, you will act as a key advisor and first point of legal contact to support our product, engineering, and other teams in building the future of A Video Game Developer Company platform. Our mission as Product Counsel is to become product experts and to provide thoughtful and effective legal advice to help our business teams succeed. To accomplish this, we work closely with other members of the legal team and collaborate with a wide range of cross-functional teams to identify risks while maintaining a keen sense of business judgment.

This full time position is based in San Mateo, CA (hybrid structure with 3 days onsite per week) and will report to Senior Product Counsel

You Will:

Act as a trusted advisor to A Video Game Developer Company product and engineering teams as well as company leadership throughout the product development lifecycle to ensure healthy product launches.
Ensure compliance with US and international laws and regulations including those concerning privacy, content regulation, communications, online safety, payments and the digital economy, consumer protection, and advertising.
Coordinate advice with cross-functional stakeholders, including product, marketing, trust & safety, and other internal and external legal counsel.
Stay on top of the latest developments in a fast-changing legal landscape and develop deep expertise in A Video Game Developer Company's products.
Build positive and influential relationships company-wide through trusted advising, knowledge-sharing and training.

You Have:

5+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably a combination of law firm and in-house experience at a consumer-facing technology company in the gaming, social media, financial, or communications space;
A license to practice law in a US jurisdiction;
Strong business-oriented judgment and the ability to analyze problems, propose solutions, and provide advice that is creative, practical, and legally acceptable, taking into account the needs and objectives of the business;
The ability to manage a diverse and complex workload while maintaining priorities and proactively investigating and identifying issues; and
The desire to work on a small but growing team, and a track record of collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to overcome complex challenges.
