Job Summary:
We are a five (5) attorney law firm whose principal has been practicing personal injury litigation for over 40 years seeking to add a new team member who is skilled and has some experience in Personal Injury to join our legal team in Chicago, IL. The ideal candidate will be passionate about advocating for clients who have suffered injuries due to negligence or wrongdoing. As a Personal Injury Attorney, you will provide legal representation, guidance, and support to clients throughout the entirety of their personal injury claims. Responsibilities: Conduct consultations with clients to evaluate the merits of potential personal injury cases. Investigate and work with paralegals on the team to gather evidence related to clients' claims, including medical records, accident reports, and witness statements. Analyze legal issues, precedents, and statutes to provide informed legal advice and develop case strategies. Communicate with insurance companies, opposing counsel, and other relevant parties to negotiate settlements or pursue litigation. Draft and file legal documents, such as complaints, motions, and discovery requests, in a timely manner. Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, depositions, and trials. Provide ongoing communication and updates to clients regarding the status of their cases. Collaborate with legal assistants, paralegals, and other team members to ensure efficient case management and client satisfaction. Qualifications: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Admission to the Illinois State Bar and in good standing. Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing personal injury law, with a proven track record of successful case outcomes. Strong litigation skills, including experience in both settlement negotiations and courtroom advocacy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize with clients and effectively convey legal concepts. Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and prioritize tasks effectively. Proficiency in legal research and writing, as well as familiarity with relevant legal software and technology. Additional Requirements: Knowledge of Illinois personal injury laws and procedures. Willingness to travel for client meetings, court appearances, and other case-related activities. Commitment to upholding ethical standards and providing zealous representation for clients.
