Personal Injury Attorney Responsibilities
- Develop new business through building your personal brand and networking;
- Screen new potential cases to determine if they are qualified
- Draft, review, and modify claims, motions, discovery responses, demand letters, pleadings, subpoenas, memorandums, and other legal documents;
- Research case law and gather insurance policies, medical expenses, medical records, and other evidence relevant to the case;
- Communicate with clients, expert witnesses, insurance company adjusters, supporting witnesses, and medical providers to gather information relevant to the case;
- Negotiate suitable settlement on the clients' behalf;
- Represent the client at hearings, trials, mediations, depositions, etc;
- Ability to use technology to maximize efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree and a J.D. degree is required;
- Licensure with the State Bar of Georgia of mandatory, a bar license with other states is helpful;
- New attorneys are welcome to apply, we are willing to train and mentor a candidate that is an exceptional culture fit with our law firm. The ideal candidate will have two years of experience (either plaintiff or defense) litigating personal injury, wrongful death or other civil litigation practice areas.
- An understanding of personal injury law/ tort law, medical terminology, wrongful death and civil procedure is desired;
- Superb drafting, research, negotiation and communication skills are preferred;
- Must show aptitude to use legal technology;
- Desires to build their own personal injury practice within the existing law firm.
