Description:

The Regulatory Legal team at An American Bank Holding Company tackles legally complex issues impacting the entire company. We are seeking an attorney who is collaborative, inquisitive, and enthusiastic about the law. You'll need strong analytical and organizational skills, great judgment, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. We want someone with an ownership mentality who nonetheless enjoys being part of a team and who can interact with and influence across departments and job levels. Come ready to grow and have fun while doing it. We'll help you learn the rest.

By joining Capital One, you will become a member of a leading financial services institution, and collaborate daily with diverse, talented individuals to achieve results that benefit Capital One's customers, associates, and shareholders. As an attorney on the Regulatory Legal team, you will help support business operations and risk offices, business-aligned attorneys, Compliance and Audit professionals, and more. Working closely with these partners across each of Capital One's lines of business, you will be a go-to resource across the company on interpreting new laws and regulations applicable to Capital One. Additionally, you will advise our legal and business partners on how to solve problems in multiple subject matters across the company.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Advise lines of businesses on the legal significance and interpretation of applicable laws and regulations tailored to specific business processes and practices
  • Serve as the first legal touchpoint for all new laws, rules, and regulations that may be applicable to Capital One's lines of business, and draft accurate and understandable summaries for business lines
  • Do all this (and more) in a highly-collaborative environment that values your insight, encourages you to take on new responsibilities, promotes a growth mindset, and rewards your innovation and intellectual curiosity
