A General Practice, Full Service Law Firm's litigation practice provides clients with resourceful approaches, experienced advocacy and substantive expertise. Responsibilities:
A General Practice, Full Service Law Firm is seeking a practice group associate with 2+ years of experience to join our litigation team in New York. Candidates should have an interest in working on insurance and reinsurance disputes and developing pretrial and trial practice. Responsibilities include drafting of complex submissions, preparation of witnesses, expert discovery and trial practice. Many of these disputes are tried in an arbitral setting. Candidates must be comfortable growing into a role where they will be given significant responsibility. Please note this is an off-track position.

Collaboration with team members is an important component of any role at A General Practice, Full Service Law Firm. Therefore, the firm encourages working from the office approximately 60% of the time in accordance with the firm's published guidelines.

Qualifications:
  • Graduated with a JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Admitted or eligible for admission in New York
  • Experience in complex litigation matters and an interest in arbitration trial practice
  • Insurance/reinsurance background is preferred but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professionalism in working and engaging with demanding clients
  • Ability to balance and prioritize competing priorities and responsibilities
  • Ability to stay organized and exercise extreme attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively in team settings
