This position works in the Assessor's Office and is responsible for managing St. Louis County's resolution of State Tax Commission (STC) appeals for residential and commercial property. This position will coordinate with other managers within the Assessor's Office to achieve common goals.

The typical starting salary range is between $65,145.60 and $78,166 annually depending upon the candidates qualifications as well as budgetary considerations. Examples of Duties:
  • Manages the resolution of STC appeals. Assists in developing litigation strategy and serves as liaison between the Assessor's office and representatives of other taxing districts regarding certain appeals.
  • Coordinates with the Residential and Commercial Valuation Managers to effectively allocate personnel resources for timely and effective completion of all responsibilities of the real estate section during an assessment cycle.
  • Assists with Board of Equalization (BOE) appeals by providing advice regarding valuation and classification appeals to Assessor's staff.
  • Services as liaison between County Counselor's Office and Assessor's Office on various matters.
  • Advises Assessor's Staff on various issues. Represents the Assessor in meetings and negotiations as needed.
  • Assists Assessor's staff in responding to document requests under Chapter 610.010 RSMO (Missouri “Sunshine Law”).
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited law school and currently licensed to practice law in the State of Missouri with a minimum of two years' related experience.
