Description:
Overview:An American Subscription-Based Software As a Service Company's Litigation Counsel assists the Company's General Counsel and Associate General Counsel in asserting and defending legal claims and coordinating the prosecution and/or defense of ongoing disputes.
The successful candidate will have the desire and ability to manage 20-40 customer or third-party disputes at a time, including advising on internal investigation and fact-finding, recommending strategic direction, leading negotiation with opposing parties, and working to resolve matters within target timelines.
Responsibilities:
- Engage and negotiate directly with opposing counsel or counterparties
- Coordinate with the company's business units and custodians regarding information retention and discovery
- Advise and support the company's business units regarding pending legal disputes and investigations
- Coordinate with outside counsel as to pending disputes
- Manage responses to subpoena
- Perform legal research and assist with developing company positions on legal issues
- Perform other duties as requested
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an ABA accredited law school
- License in good standing to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction
- 3+ years of substantive litigation experience, with some plaintiff-side experience preferred
- Excellent judgment and willingness to understand business objectives
- Positive attitude, high energy, desire to grow with the business and help maximize opportunities
- Proficiency/comfort using standard information technology
