Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled Litigation Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling all phases of litigation from the initial case assessment through trial and appeal.
Responsibilities:
- Attending trials, depositions, mediations, and other court appearances.
- Preparing pleadings and motions, drafting discovery, mediation briefs and trial briefs.
- Ability to adhere to strict deadlines while multi-tasking and working in a fast-moving litigation environment is necessary.
- Settle and negotiate personal injury cases.
- Keep clients fully informed by communicating with clients to understand their legal concerns and needs to help provide them with essential client service.
- Accurately value and develop cases.
- Document files with notes and records using.
- Provide clients with an accurate accounting of their settlements.
- Excellent organizational skills and time management is a must.
- Be able to work well with legal assistants.
- Have ownership and a strong knowledge of a portfolio.
- Prosecute cases in a timely manner.
- Return client calls.
- Remain current on federal and state laws, regulations, and case law.
Skills:
- Proficient in legal drafting and research
- Strong legal administrative skills
- Ability to conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Exceptional writing abilities for drafting legal documents
- Experience in litigating cases effectively
