We are an established real estate law firm with offices across California. Our San Diego office is seeking a Litigation Attorney to handle a wide array of complex civil litigation matters including, but not limited to, business and real estate litigation. We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, a great team player, has a positive attitude, and who will develop strong relationships with our large client base while providing quality and effective representation. While you will be partnered with supportive mentors, ideal candidates must be able to operate independently with limited need for supervision.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal representation to clients, assessing the facts and issues of each scenario and counseling clients appropriately
  • Provide litigation defense or prosecution of civil claims
  • Respond to client concerns to increase and retain business
  • Taking and defending depositions
  • Participate in industry organizations and affiliated committees to increase the firm's visibility in the community and within the industry
  • Represent the firm internally and externally
  • Other duties as needed to support the legal and management goals of the department

The successful candidate will be required to make court appearances and attend meetings in San Diego. This position has a billable hour goal of 1600 hours per/year.

Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
  • J.D. and an active California Bar license
  • 3-6+ years attorney experience
  • Ability to communicate regularly with clients on a range of practice group topics
  • Ability to multi-task and operate against inflexible deadlines both in a team environment and independently
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage and reprioritize caseload
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning

The following qualifications are preferred:
  • Experience in business and/or real estate law
  • Experience with ProLaw or other billing and document management program
  • Deposition experience
  • Trial experience
  • Probate litigation experience

We currently offer a hybrid in-office/remote work. New hire employees will complete the majority of their onboarding and training in-office as deemed necessary for the position by the firm before transitioning to a hybrid schedule.
