About the role:
Primarily responsible for assisting the Legal VP and Deputy General Counsel in the management of regulatory affairs and for providing strategic legal advice related to An Insurance Company and its affiliates, particularly the ones participating in the insurance industry. He/she assists in the interaction with federal and local regulatory agencies, regulatory submissions, investigations and legal proceedings and litigation. provides advice and assists in consultations, contract drafting, review and negotiation as well as other aspects of the day-to-day operation of TSM and its insurance affiliates. Provides a strategic legal analysis considering risks and the company objectives, purpose, and values. Works closely with other litigation counsels in developing strategy for judicial and administrative proceedings and litigation and in ensuring regulatory compliance. Provides practical, business-oriented legal/regulatory support and advice primarily to the personnel of the different Business Units, as well as other duties as assigned, and notary services needed by the different Business Units.

What You'll Do:
  • Conduct legal research and develop legal memoranda.
  • Provides practical, business-oriented legal and regulatory advice to the operation.
  • Handles legal consultations from the different Business Units and affiliates.
  • Assists in the coordination of regulatory affairs, including interaction with international, federal, and local agencies, regulatory submissions and legal proceedings and litigation.
  • Represents company in judicial and administrative proceedings and litigation.
  • Assists in contract drafting, review and negotiation.
  • Notary duties.

What You'll Bring
Juris Doctor from accredited Law School with at least 5 years of experience practicing law. Five years' experience in litigation or regulatory compliance in both insurance and administrative law preferable. Admitted to practice of law in Puerto Rico (in good standing). Admitted as a Notary Public in Puerto Rico.
