A Snapshot of Your Day
As
a Legal Counsel in the Project Entity group, you will support the
execution of contracts pertaining to the sale and service of An Energy Company's portfolio. The selected individual will perform a full range of
contractual services during the execution phase of the contract
management life cycle. The successful candidate will work independently
and as a member of a regionally based multidisciplinary team
concurrently engaged in multiple projects.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Write, review, analyze, modify, and negotiate contractual documents, change orders, and amendments for existing projects in execution.
- Handle claims and support potential settlements.
- Prepare contractual and legal risk analysis and summaries for review and approval by management.
- Summarize risks for review and approval by management.
- Providing advice/recommendation and interpretation of contract requirements, obligations, and risk exposure to the applicable business partners.
- Support commercial contracts during the execution of national and international large-scale projects.
What you bring:
- Juris Doctorate is required.
- Must be currently admitted, in good standing, and actively licensed to practice law in one or more states in the United States.
- Minimum of 5+ years of legal experience in a law firm or corporate in-house position; drafting and negotiating contracts or equivalent litigation of same, preferably in an energy environment.
- Demonstrated success of handling complex contracts and able to handle multiple projects at the same time.
- Demonstrated claim management.
- Self-driven individual with the ability to formulate logical and pragmatic approaches and make effective recommendations to address complex issues.
- Strong negotiations skills with the ability to support a matrixed negotiating team.
- Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules, and priorities.
- Excellent verbal communication and writing skills with demonstrated ability to develop and communicate clearly and concisely with all levels of stakeholders.
- Experience with commercial contracts desired.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. An Energy Company employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
