We need great legal professionals to help continue our incredible growth. To that end, we are strategically growing the legal department to add a legal advisor who can provide creative, practical, and business-oriented solutions to complex challenges.

Job Summary:
The corporate counsel will join A Company That Develops, Manufactures & Markets Power Tools at our headquarters in Brookfield, WI. Duties will include
  • Negotiating and drafting a variety of commercial contracts, including supply agreements, distribution agreements, partnerships, leases, LOIs, etc.
  • Consulting with management, tax, accounting, finance, marketing, engineering, and all areas of the business to support their legal needs with advice on a variety of different legal and strategic issues
  • Advise and lead diligence on various acquisitions
    • Update and continue to develop the organization's policies, including identifying industry-specific issues, governance, and regulatory affairs
    • Designing, updating, and delivering legal training to the business
    • Becoming a trusted advisor for the leadership of various different areas of the business

What we are looking for:
  • Juris doctorate degree from an accredited law school
  • Law firm or in-house lawyers with 1-3 years of experience and licensed to practice in at least one state or the District of Columbia
  • Must have authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis
  • Understand commercial and corporate law
  • Ability to work in a highly autonomous role
  • High-energy, self-starting, works well independently and in a team atmosphere
  • Proven leadership skills either in school or professional experience
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Organized and detailed-oriented with ability to multitask and adapt to variable work assignments across multiple legal departments and other functions in an extremely fast-moving environment
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities to meet multiple deadlines
  • Ability to think strategically, while managing the details
  • Experience using Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
