Description:
Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada's Consumer Rights Project helps
people who cannot afford an attorney fight back against economic
predators. We represent consumers trapped by payday loans, people left
without transportation due to illegal repossessions, victims of unlawful
car sales or bad mechanics, and homeowners on the verge of losing their
homes. The Consumer Rights Project is looking for law clerks who have a
passion for justice and fairness. Our law clerks work closely with
attorneys and clients – they prepare pleadings and research memos,
interview clients and present cases at a weekly case review meeting,
attend hearings if schedules permit, learn how to evaluate cases, and
get hands-on experience helping people enforce their legal rights. The
time commitment is a minimum of 15 hours per week (with a maximum of 20
hours per week) under public interest grants if applicable, or at the
pay rate of $18.00 per hour. Please note that this is an in person
position.
