Job Summary/Description
A Public University invites applications for an Instructor of Business Law in the Accounting, Economics, & Finance Department of the Norris- Vincent College of Business. This is a fulltime, nine-month faculty position.

The successful candidate will teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Business Law and participate in various service-related activities such as student advising, committee work, and engagement with the academic and business communities.
Courses will be taught at the graduate and undergraduate levels in several modalities.
The business programs offered by the Norris-Vincent College of Business are accredited by AACSB and candidates will need to hold and maintain Practice Academic (PA) status based on the College's guidelines for such status.

Typical Duties/Job Duties
Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in business law, produce peer-reviewed intellectual contributions, especially journal articles, and participate in various service-related activities such as student advising, committee work, and engagement with the academic and business communities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Applicants should be dedicated to excellence in teaching and willing to offer their courses in in-person, online, and hybrid formats.
  • Applicants should also be dedicated to helping ASU students succeed, particularly first-generation college students.
  • Applicants should possess excellent written and oral communication skills. with strong organizational skills.
  • Collegiality and the ability to collaborate with other business faculty in both research and service are also expected.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Applicants must possess a Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school and hold a valid license to practice law issued by the highest court of at least one state in the United States.
  • Successful teaching experience at the college or university level.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have experience teaching Business Law classes and experience teaching online.
  • Legal experience working in law firms and/or as in-house counsel.
  • Experience in corporate or tax law.
