Job Purpose: We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic General Counsel to lead our legal / compliance department and serve as a trusted advisor to our executive team.

- Provide comprehensive legal advice and counsel to the CEO, executive team on a broad range of matters, including corporate governance, contracts, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, employment law and litigation.
- Lead the in-house legal / compliance team, including managing workload, mentoring associates, and ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of legal services.
- Develop and implement strategic legal initiatives that align with the company's overall business goals.
- Oversee all legal aspects of capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and other significant business transactions.
- Manage outside counsel relationships and ensure cost-effective legal representation.
- Stay abreast of current legal developments and industry trends that may impact the company's operations.
- Proactively identify and mitigate legal risks.
- Foster a strong culture of ethics and compliance within the company.
- Represent the company in legal matters as needed.
Position Requirements:
Qualifications:
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
- 5 to 10 years of experience as a practicing attorney, with a significant focus on business law and/or in-house legal experience.
- Financial services industry experience a plus.
- Proven track record of success in providing strategic legal counsel to senior management teams.
- Strong understanding of corporate governance.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast=paced environment.
