We're looking for a highly motivated General Corporate Counsel to join our Legal team. (Hybrid)

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the Legal team
  • Collaborate with outside counsel as needed
  • Act as the board secretary for Telenav and ensure compliance for Telenav's subsidiaries
  • Participate as a member of Telenav's executive management group and provide advice to Telenav's CEO and other officers
  • Manage financing and M&A transactions
  • Partner with and advise HR on employment law matters
  • Management of Telenav's patent portfolio in conjunction with outside counsel and associated patent litigation
  • Review, draft and negotiate agreements to support Telenav's navigation business, such as agreements with our OEM automobile manufacturing partners, content providers and other strategic partners
  • Act as a strategic partner, providing valuable insights to internal stakeholders throughout the contract process
  • Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with proposed transactions
  • Work with our in-house Data Protection Officer to ensure products and services comply with global data privacy regulations
  • Develop, update, and maintain form agreements
  • Assist with special projects, legal research, and other ad hoc support for the Legal team

Experience and Skills:
  • 10 years legal experience with an emphasis on OEM licensing, reviewing and negotiating software and technology licensing agreements (in-bound and out-bound), and customer agreements
  • Experience with Corporate management such as Board of Directors processes and all related corporate governance areas
  • Experience with issues related to privacy and data security
  • Juris Doctor with strong academic credentials
  • Active California bar membership or qualified as California Registered In-House Counsel
  • Leadership and project management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, business judgment and strategic thinking
  • Prior experience working at a top law firm
  • Previous in-house experience as a licensing/product attorney and in the Insurtech industry
  • Preferred experience partnering with operational business units (including Engineering and Product Management) and corporate service departments (Finance, Human Resources, Tax, Marketing, Business Development, etc.) to ensure appropriate risk analysis and transaction structuring
