About the Job:
We're hiring a full-time Attorney to be a part of our experienced law firm. Our firm is in the heart of Denton, TX, serving clients in North Texas and throughout the great State of Texas, where we specialize in complex family law, probate, and guardianship cases.

Strong Applicants:
Ideal candidates will have two or more years of litigation experience, with experience handling:
  • Family law matters including divorce, enforcements, modifications, and other family law-related matters
  • Any Probate experience is also a plus (but not required): including will contests, dependent administrations, independent administrations, and other related matters.

Candidates also should have:
  • Working knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and Texas Rules of Evidence;
  • A license in good standing to practice law in the State of Texas;
  • Strong ethical standards, work ethics, interpersonal skills, and willingness to learn and grow professionally;
  • Proven experience providing a high standard of service and professionalism to clients, especially when there are emotional challenges;
  • Desire to think outside the box and work to find new solutions to fit a client's legal needs; and
  • Possess high-level verbal and written skills to effectively communicate with clients, attorneys, contractors, and employees.

Experience with discovery, mediation/ arbitration, and separate property claims is a plus.

Job Duties include:
  • Managing your caseloads and the professional legal staff assigned to assist your cases;
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and orders for your clients;
  • Meeting all deadlines, including those placed on short notice (as the case requires);
  • Appear in court when required (examples include temporary order hearings, final trials, and other hearings as appropriate);
  • Perform legal research using Westlaw and other platforms;
  • Interview witnesses and work with specialists on cases;
  • Prepare for trials, hearings, depositions, mediations, and other case requirements as applicable; and
  • Assist senior attorneys in complex cases.
