Our aggressively growing law firm is looking to hire a family attorney who is fiercely passionate about giving our clients

an opportunistic and hopeful future after a divorce. Skills and experience are appreciated and valued, and certainly considered, but your personality, character, intelligence, and integrity are also extremely important considerations.

We are looking for a team player willing to take ownership of a client's case, including direct contact with clients and opposing counsel, drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and handling mediations and conferences, pretrial hearings, and trials.

Candidates should have some experience with preparing necessary legal documents in connection with prenuptial agreements, initiating and finalizing divorces, alimony, child support/child custody, and real estate. Experience in handling legal issues such as child abuse, child custody, and domestic violence is also a plus. Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with paralegals and senior partners to ensure swift action through the civil litigation process
  • Attend court proceedings as needed to represent clients
  • Maintain client files to ensure they are properly organized and up to date
  • Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs analyzing the situation then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action
  • Create legal documents such as pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgements and orders for a high volume of cases

Qualifications:
  • Prior work or studies in criminal justice preferred
  • Experience at a legal firm working on family law and real estate issues (determining marital property) for at least 1-2 years is required
  • Bachelor's degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are required
  • Member in good standing and actively involved with the ABA (American Bar Association)
  • Ability to successfully represent both plaintiff and defendant sides of a case
