Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school
  • Must have Ohio bar license, Michigan bar license a plus
  • 1-3 years' law practice experience preferred
  • Strong technological skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management systems
  • Superior research skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills
  • Ability to work independently while preserving collegial collaboration
  • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Ability to self-start, meet deadlines, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Genuine display of kindness and empathy
  • Business mindset preferred
  • Possess emotional maturity necessary to maintain professionalism under duress

Responsibilities:
  • Identify the appropriate strategy to meet the client's expressed objectives and make recommendations to fulfill those objectives
  • Draft estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, ancillary documents, etc.
  • Draft probate documents relative to estate administration and guardianships
  • Assist elderly clients in applying for and maintaining Medicaid benefits
  • Confidently explain complex legal concepts to clients
  • Regularly consult with clients, accountants, financial advisors, and other parties as needed to effectively move cases forward
  • Cultivate relationships with the firm's existing and future clients by maintaining consistent and timely communication
  • Occasionally assist in other matters: litigation, real estate, etc.
