Growing Atlanta law firm has an immediate opening for an Entry-Level Associate working in criminal law. Our firm handles cases on a retained basis for the resolution of legal matters from negotiation with prosecutors to trials. We're looking for the right professional to join our team. This team member must be a fast learner as they will learn in real-time, and on the go, from our junior and senior associates. The position involves extensive client contact via telephone, video, in-office, and jail visits consultations, performing legal research, drafting documents, and keeping client files up to date. This position will also be trained to represent clients in preliminary matters and support the firm through conflict appearances. They will also engage in marketing outreach.

Responsibilities:
  • Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action
  • Resolve cases efficiently by using communicating effectively with and working alongside senior attorneys and paralegals
  • Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff
  • Conduct legal research, prepare for and attend hearings and/or other legal proceedings, and provide legal counsel with the help of senior associate attorneys

Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of the bar exam
  • Prepared to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base
  • Has a Juris Doctor (J.D. degree) from an accredited law school
  • Solid communication skills and problem-solving skills required in order to work with clients, staff members and senior attorneys
  • Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA)
