About the Job:We are seeking an associate attorney to join our team! You will represent clients in legal proceedings, draw up legal documents and advise clients on legal matters.
We are looking for an associate attorney for our workers compensation, labor and employment litigation practice. We are a defense firm, representing employers throughout California. We defense FMLA and FEHA, wage and hour class and workers comp suits. We advice the clients on regulatory compliance and distribution matters. You must have excellent oral, writing, research, and analytical skills. You must be a team player, self-motivated, goal-oriented, personable, and presentable. Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in court
- Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of clients
- Advise clients on business and legal transactions
- Negotiate settlements for legal disputes
- Comply with all legal standards and regulations
- Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law
- Draft opinion letters and briefs
- Conduct legal research
- Summarize documents and deposition transcripts
- Assist with trial preparation
Qualifications:
- Needs to be licensed in the state of California
- Have extensive experience with WestLaw and Lexus Nexus platforms
- Needs to have 2+ years of experience in labor and employment laws
- Familiarity with various legal documents
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to build rapport with clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
