The Admissions Of?ce at the A Law College in Charlottesville, Virginia seeks a Director of Admissions. This is a new position in the Admissions Office, created to join the two existing Directors and the Assistant Dean in expanding the office's operations and initiatives.

The Director of Admissions will interview prospective students and recruit admitted students during all phases of the admissions cycle, whether by Zoom or in-person visits at the Law School or off-site. The Director will evaluate applications and make admissions recommendations to the Assistant Dean, ensuring timely turnaround of admissions decisions. The Director will collect, analyze, and interpret data for use in analysis, decision-making, and performance monitoring. The Director will help organize on-grounds events such as tours, class visits, admissions information sessions, and Admitted Students Open Houses, including the involvement of current students, faculty, and alumni. This position will enhance existing methods in student recruitment and data analysis, while also allowing development of new initiatives in the Admissions Of?ce.

Some travel is involved during the admissions cycle.

A J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school or other graduate degree is required. At least four years of legal or higher education experience is required. Candidates must have superior oral and written communication skills; an excellent customer-service orientation; strong interpersonal and organizational skills; a strong commitment to student services; and the ability to work with diverse constituencies in a team- oriented and collegial environment. Facility with databases and Microsoft Excel is strongly preferred.
