A Management Organization is a management organization and service provider for various insurance industry groups responsible for administering the residual market. We are a national organization that serves local customer needs. Centralization and standardization are key to many A Management Organization services because of the inherent economies of scale and other efficiencies. However, our organization is based on customer focus and recognizes the need for flexibility in serving customer groups with diverse interests.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manage and provide oversight over all litigated claims under the A Management Organization Insurance Operations program including supervision of the claims Third Party Administrator (TPA) and outside counsel.
  • Accountable to ensure TPA Best Practices and A Management Organization Litigation Management Guidelines are followed.
  • Provide oversight for development of litigation and resolution strategies.
  • Partner with TPA claims adjusters and A Management Organization Insurance Operation Claims Director and Claims Examiners to analyze risks and reduce exposures.
  • Collaborate with A Management Organization Claims Program Director to refine internal claims best practices and operating procedures.
  • Review and revise responses to Insurance Department complaints.
  • Provide training to internal claims examiners and claims TPA.
  • Serve as representative before various insurance industry associations and government agencies. Respond to needs and requirements of senior management and state governing committees.

Education:
Law Degree and admission to a State Bar required. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing insurance education.

Experience:
8 or more years of experience as a practicing attorney in insurance defense with an emphasis on commercial auto and trucking. Experience with property and casualty policy interpretation. Familiarity with state insurance regulations, auto insurance filings, administrative law, litigation, and insurance governmental relations desired.

Skills & Knowledge:
  • In-depth knowledge of the insurance industry, claims, and the insurance defense litigation legal environment.
  • Proven track record of litigating large loss and complex claims for commercial property and casualty insurance companies.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office productivity tools (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel) and working knowledge of Lexis and other legal research tools.
  • Effective problem-solving skills, including ability to analyze complex issues, find the root cause of the problem and consider a wide range of alternatives before acting.
  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups or individuals.
  • Ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and interact professionally and effectively in a team environment.
  • Provide feedback and input in group meetings and discussions.
  • Demonstrate strong leadership capabilities and exercise excellent judgment in cross-functional situations.
