Responsibilities and Duties include the following.
  • Contract Maintenance – This person must be able to plan, develop, and maintain the Company's strategy for approval, execution, renewal and housing of all contracts.
  • Contract Point of Contact – This person is in a unique position to serve as the main point of contact for all contract relations with businesses, agencies, boards, associations, and federal, state and local governments, with final contract approval from Chief Legal Officer.
  • Management of Contract Process – The individual in this position must be able to manage end to end contract process, which will include assisting the project team with reviewing terms and conditions and preparing responses to RFP/?RFQs.
  • Business Building – The employee in this position will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, structuring, and/or administrating contractual documents that establish business relationships
  • Dissemination/Storing Contract Information – Because different business units will be utilizing this position for their contract processes, this person must provide contract status (start dates, renewals, end dates), business advice and assistance to management and/or functional areas, as well as documenting contract statuses in Salesforce.
  • Legal Research and Review – Various departments within NASBA need assistance with legal research or review of particular issues. As such, this position must provide legal review, research and advice on rules and regulations, both international and domestic, with a practical, business orientation to the assigned board, division, department or corporate function
  • ALL Review/Tracking – Due to the amount of legal research required in the maintenance of ALL, this employee will work with Accountancy Licensing Library team to conduct monthly reviews of state board websites and analyze legislative changes that arise.
  • Legal Support for NASBA Legislative Team – This position provides regulatory research and legislative support to the Governmental and Legislative Affairs team. This person should coordinate with his/her supervisor if multiple requests are received in order to ensure proper prioritization.
  • Special Projects – This person, because of their expertise, will be needed to assist with special projects and reports from time to time.
  • Other Duties – Serving as a legal resource to the different departments within NASBA, this individual must be capable and willing to accept other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Education/Experience/Knowledge
  • Bachelor's degree, Juris Doctorate
  • 3-4 years contract law experience
  • Experience with Salesforce preferred
  • Proficient in Word and Excel
