Joining A Fourth-Generation Family-Owned Business as its new Corporate Legal Counsel is an opportunity to help accelerate a fast-growing dynamic business that has experienced rapid growth in the past three years (and that's also firmly established as a market leader).

The Corporate Legal Counsel will be a strategic key partner in providing essential guidance on the company's legal rights and obligations. The incoming Counsel will be expected to roll-up-their-sleeves and partner with leaders - quickly coming up to speed on our unique challenges and executing an action plan.

Qualified candidates must have in-house counsel experience in a corporate environment.

How you will make an impact:
  • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Effectively support and align with A Fourth-Generation Family-Owned Business purpose, mission, values, and culture.
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships and partner on A Fourth-Generation Family-Owned Business contract legal strategy
  • Build legal contracts strategy for the organization and align this strategy with other areas of the team to drive scalability of our fast-growing business.
  • Responsible for drafting and reviewing supplier agreements and contracts.
  • Negotiate and advise on contract terms and conditions.
  • Provide legal advice and counsel on general corporate legal matters.
  • Manages responsibilities with integrity and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Conduct legal research as needed.
  • Hands on and effective utilization of contract management software
  • Drive continuous improvement in areas of contract compliance and supply chain agreements.
  • Partner with A Fourth-Generation Family-Owned Business Leadership peers to bring customer/supplier experience attention to strategic decisions across the business model that drives success towards our goals.
  • Monitor and maintain a pulse on industry ongoing changes and development in TWM, environmental, and sustainability, etc. legal areas of focus.
  • Partner with THG's corporate legal team and leaders to foster information sharing and relationship development across organizations.

Organizational Alignment:
  • This role will report to the Chief Operating Officer and is expected to work closely with the broader A Fourth-Generation Family-Owned Business Leadership Team.
  • This role will need to be a strong partner and decision maker in relation to supplier agreements so that he/she can influence the overall business impacts on the organization.
  • The Corporate Legal Counsel will collaborate with other legal counsel across THG.

Work Location Arrangement:
Like the rest of the A Fourth-Generation Family-Owned Business Leadership Team, the A Fourth-Generation Family-Owned Business Corporate Legal Counsel may operate on a hybrid remote/in-office schedule flexible to their needs while ensuring leadership, cross-functional relationship building and a commitment to delivering outstanding results.

What you will need to succeed:
Experience and Education:
  • Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
  • Minimum 7 years experience in corporate law
  • Strong knowledge of contract law
  • Must have knowledge and experience in RCRA and CRCLA based contracts
  • Must be licensed or qualified to practice law in Indiana
  • Willing to primarily reside in the Indianapolis, IN area
