A Hospitality Company is an industry-leading hotel management and investment firm that operates over 230 hotels across the United States and Canada, with a portfolio that includes Marriott, Hilton, IHG as well as independent and boutique hotels.

A Hospitality Company's business has experienced rapid growth over the past few years, in large part driven by A Hospitality Company's robust and dedicated investment team which has acquired 20+ hotels over the past three years. A Hospitality Company's legal team is seeking an accomplished real estate transactions attorney to help lead all legal aspects of hotel acquisitions, including financing transactions, joint venture agreements and related asset management functions. This position will report directly to the General Counsel and serve as a trusted advisor to the company's Chief Investment Officer, SVP of Asset Management and other members of the investment team.

The ideal candidate will have experience negotiating and reviewing real estate purchase and sale agreements, joint venture agreements, loan documents and other ancillary real estate transaction documents. Experience closing transactions and leading a team is strongly preferred.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Draft, analyze, structure and negotiate purchase agreements, financing documents, and joint venture agreements relating to hotel assets with top-tier institutional counterparties
  • Draft and negotiate hotel management agreements
  • Oversee real estate transactions closing process, including coordination with all relevant internal and external parties
  • Oversee and develop relationships with outside counsel
  • Synthesize legal issues and provide guidance to business counterparts in a concise and practical manner
  • Manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously

Position Requirements:
  • JD with 3+ years' experience in transactional real estate matters at a law firm or in-house setting
  • Admission to the practice of law in Pennsylvania
  • Ability to manage transactions from start to finish, work independently and exercise good judgment
  • Strong legal drafting and negotiation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly-developed organizational skills, articulate, detail oriented and hard working
  • Strong curiosity about the business in general and a desire to take ownership of projects
  • Proficient in MS Word and PowerPoint
