Job Details:
Summary: This role is integral to the company, providing legal advice, risk management, and support across all aspects of our business, with a particular focus on contracts, compliance, and regulatory matters related to the transportation industry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following—other duties as assigned:
  • Provide legal guidance and support to various departments within the company, including operations, sales, logistics, and human resources.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including service agreements, vendor contracts, employment agreements, and confidentiality agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations affecting the trucking and logistics industry.
  • Manage litigation and disputes, coordinating with external counsel as necessary.
  • Advise on corporate governance, business strategy, and risk management.
  • Keep abreast of legislation and regulatory changes that may affect the company and its operations.
  • Support the company's M&A activities, including due diligence, negotiation, and integration.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on legal and compliance matters.

Education and/or Experience: Juris Doctor (JD) degree and admission to practice law in at least one U.S. state.

10 years of legal experience, preferably in litigation and/or within the transportation industry.

Strong knowledge of contract law.

Systems Training: Must have strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite. Experience with As400 is an asset.
