Requirements:
Minimum Skills & Requirements:
  • Requires a Juris Doctorate degree and from an ABA approved law school
  • Requires active membership in good standing and current authorization to practice law by the State Bar of Georgia, or a state bar association of another U.S.state
  • Requires 5 - 7 years' of previous legal experience advising corporate/organizational clients
  • Ability to work closely and collaboratively with HR and business partners at all levels of seniority
  • Experience and expertise advising organizational clients in any of the following areas: employment law, ERISA and employee benefits law, including legal issues related to 401(k) plan administration, executive compensation
  • across the organization, while providing business focused legal advice
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Desired Skills:
  • In-house counsel experience preferred but not required
  • Expertise in U.S. domestic and international privacy laws a plus
  • Experience working with and advising senior management
  • Ability and desire to expand range of legal subject matter expertise, and assist as needed across the business

Job Description:
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Advise HR and management on employment related legal matters
  • Provide advice and legal counsel to HR and management on employee benefits concerns, including plan design, implementation, maintenance, and administration
  • Draft, edit, and maintain corporate policies and training materials related to the above
  • Coordinate legal investigations internally or in conjunction with outside counsel, if warranted. Provide resolution and/or report results to company management as appropriate
  • Work with outside counsel as necessary in response to litigation and other legal matters
  • Assist with other legal matters as assigned
  • Reports to the General Counsel
