This Corporate Counsel, Employment position presents a unique opportunity to be a part of our talented legal team! We are looking to add a superstar to be our dedicated employment lawyer who will help ensure that our workplace remains safe, our employment practices remain fair and compliant, and our workforce remains engaged.

What You'll Do:
  • Provide advice and counsel to management and the People team on a broad range of domestic and foreign employment law issues, including issues relating to: recruitment and hiring, employee relations, performance management, internal investigations, leaves of absence, compensation and benefits, restrictive covenants such as non-compete agreements, wage-and-hour compliance, employee privacy, and immigration
  • Stay up to date on changes to applicable employment laws and regulations, and audit and update policies and practices to ensure compliance
  • Manage outside counsel as needed to address ongoing employment and immigration matters
  • Draft or revise employment-related document templates, and negotiate employment-related agreements, such as offer letters, confidentiality agreements, arbitration agreements, and settlement agreements
  • Create and deliver trainings on employment-related issues to educate employees and enhance A Computer Software Firm's culture of compliance
  • Work alongside the People team to manage and advise on investigations and respond to employment-related claims and complaints
  • Create and execute on employment-related philosophies and strategies that optimize for A Computer Software Firm's business objectives and increase legal compliance
  • Help build and maintain process wikis, self-service resources, and other tools to help scale the legal function
  • Participate in projects to increase the efficiency of employment law support
  • Collaborate with teams across A Computer Software Firm

Who You Are:
  • You have a JD or foreign equivalent with membership in at least one state bar
  • You have at least 6 years' experience as a practicing employment attorney, preferably including in-house experience (ideally with a growth-stage SaaS or other technology company). Familiarity with UK employment laws and working with PEOs is an added plus
  • You love being an employment lawyer and have extensive experience with the full range of employment law issues in a variety of contexts
  • You're able to draft documents, policies, emails, and anything else in a precise and digestible manner
  • You're flexible, resourceful, and solution-oriented. You are excited to help a growing company define its legal identity, to build process and repeatability where there is none; you're both comfortable saying you don't have the answer, and confident that you can then go find it
  • You possess organizational and project management skills, and are able to execute, prioritize, and stay focused in an environment that is expanding and evolving
  • You have high integrity and excellent judgment, are a clear and thoughtful communicator, and are able to be both strategic and detail-oriented
  • You're skilled at building authentic relationships with all kinds of people across many functional teams
