Position Summary:
Provides legal counsel to internal clients and stakeholders regarding routine legal matter, transactions, and project-based corporate initiatives, with primary focus in reviewing, negotiating, and drafting contractual agreements on behalf of entity.

Job Requirement:
Education/Experience:
Juris Doctorate degree and two (2) years of legal experience with contracts and vendor management in a law firm or sophisticated in-house practice. Experience representing or working with a governmental entity, government relations related to compliance with local government law applicable to governmental agencies (i.e., open meeting law, public records act, state purchasing laws and budget requirements).

Licensing/Certification Requirements:
Nevada license to practice law in the State of Nevada, or approved Certification for Limited Practice (SCR 49.1(h)) in Nevada.

Knowledge of:
Business practices, such as purchasing and contracts, application of complex legal principles to individual cases or problems; judicial procedures and rules of evidence; applicable laws, codes and regulations; professional ethics in the practice of law; health care industry and hospital practices; federal, state, local and accreditation laws, standards and practices; current trends in healthcare, medical education and research; health care issues and trends; state, federal and other laws and regulations governing health care; business practices, such as purchasing and contracts, marketing, performance measurement, etc.; principles and practices associated with managing a large complex organization; data privacy and data security issues and risks; addressing risks via contractual obligations; department and hospital safety practice and procedures; patient rights; age specific patient care practices; infection control policies and practices; handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.

Skill in:
Drafting, reviewing, and revising contracts in a wide variety of areas, such as, medical equipment and supplies, information technology and software, construction and maintenance and professional and non-professional service agreements; clear presentation of facts, evidence and precedents relating to complex cases in the form of briefs, opinions, orders or decisions; ability to analyze complex legal problems and apply legal principles and practices; understand and interpret constitutional provisions, statues, administrative regulations and precedents; researching, interpreting, applying, and explaining applicable laws, codes, regulations and court decisions; providing leadership; making effective decisions; negotiating; solving problems; applying statistical and other analytical methods; conducting and chairing meetings; prioritizing and coordinating among competing demands and meeting critical deadlines; developing and monitoring budgets; compiling and summarizing information and preparing periodic or special reports related to the work of the court; communicating effectively in both oral and written forms; using computers and related software applications; communicating with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate effectively in-person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
