The Job:
Learn How We Represent A Government Entity
A Government Entity Counsel office is looking for a Civil Law Student Intern who wants to learn how to serve as the County's legal advisor. This intern will learn how to provide legal advice on civil matters and how County Counsel defend and prosecute actions on behalf of the County.

The Intern Will Also Learn How Our Deputy County Counsel:
  • Confer and advise assigned County agencies, departments, boards, commissions, and various special and school districts on legal matters.
  • Prepare written opinions and render informal opinions on legal questions.
  • Research and draft ordinances, contracts, agreements, resolutions, and other legal documents; review the same for legality.

County Counsel serves and protects the county, its treasury, and its governing body, by providing timely and accurate legal services and aggressively representing the county in litigation. Legal services shall be performed while maintaining the highest professional and ethical standards while fostering high morale and productivity in the workplace through collaborative efforts dedicated to continuous improvement.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Must have completed one (1) or more years in law school or a recent graduate.
