  • Education: Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association accredited school of law. License, registration, and certification as required by the state. Eligible to practice law within the state.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the practice of law. Counsel experience in a health law related legal practice, preferably in New Jersey.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Credentials: Active member in good standing of the State Bar of New Jersey and license to practice law in the State of New Jersey and admission to all New Jersey courts. Eligibility for admission to the Ninth Circuit and federal courts desired. Valid New Jersey driver's license.

Essential Responsibilites:
Legal Strategy and Advice:
  • Develop and implement the company's legal strategy in alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Provide legal advice to the executive team and other departments on a wide range of legal issues affecting the company.
Compliance:
  • Ensure the company's operations comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may impact the business and advise the organization accordingly.
Contracts and Agreements:
  • Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and review of contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
  • Ensure that contracts are in the best interest of the company and comply with legal requirements.
Litigation Management:
  • Manage and coordinate legal proceedings, including litigation, arbitration, and regulatory matters.
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel when necessary and represent the company's interests in legal disputes.
Risk Management:
  • Identify and assess legal risks associated with business activities and propose strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.
Intellectual Property:
  • Protect the company's intellectual property rights, including trademarks, patents, and copyrights.
  • Manage intellectual property portfolios and enforce legal rights when necessary.
Corporate Governance:
  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance principles and regulations.
  • Advise the board of directors on legal matters related to corporate governance.
Ethics and Compliance Programs:
  • Develop and implement ethics and compliance programs to promote a culture of integrity and adherence to ethical standards.
  • Conduct training programs to educate employees on legal and ethical standards.
Government and Regulatory Affairs:
  • Interface with government agencies and regulatory bodies to address compliance issues and represent the company's interests.
  • Stay informed about changes in legislation and regulations affecting the industry.
Mergers and Acquisitions:
  • Provide legal guidance on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures.
  • Participate in due diligence processes and negotiate legal terms in transactions.
Internal Investigations:
  • Conduct or oversee internal investigations in response to allegations of legal or ethical misconduct.

Other Job Duties:
