About the Opportunity:
A Commercial Company, the Northeast's largest privately-owned solar integrator, is seeking a full-time [entry-level or similar] in-house corporate lawyer to join its Legal Department at its Headquarters location in Wall, NJ. The Attorney will be involved in diverse areas of legal practice affecting the company, including contract negotiation, litigation support, compliance, consumer law, employment law and landlord-tenant. Experience in litigation, insurance, construction and/or employment law may be beneficial. The Attorney must work well with existing Legal Department team members, interface with other Departments with the utmost professionalism and represent the company well in interactions with others. An ideal candidate should be energetic, organized, detail-oriented and willing and able to take final ownership of work product delivered to management.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with executives, managers, co-workers and
  • counterparties (such as Legal, Accounting, Payroll, Human Resources, Sales Management, Sales Administration, employees, landlords, vendors and service providers)
  • Review and negotiate leases, SaaS agreements, vendor contracts and indemnification agreements.
  • Generate releases, addenda and other custom contracts for other Departments
  • Create and maintain form contract templates
  • Prepare research memoranda
  • Participate in Department meetings to collaborate on open matters
  • Provide litigation and quasi-litigation support, including drafting briefs and conducting discovery
  • Identify matters to be escalated

Required Experience:
  • Juris Doctor degree required
  • Admission to practice law in New Jersey or willingness to pursue
  • Experience, course of study or interest in accounting, human resources, and/or business preferred
  • Litigation, insurance, construction and/or employment law experience preferred
  • Basic accounting and/or payroll principles knowledge preferred
  • Candidates will be asked to demonstrate writing ability and are invited to present writing samples
