Job Summary:A Mission-Driven Engineering Company is seeking an experienced attorney to support our supply chain and procurement operations. In this role, you will be responsible for working with a range of department leaders to support business objectives, ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, mitigate risks, and facilitate efficient contracting. As a member of a small legal team, you will have the opportunity to take on additional, generalist responsibilities and have a significant role in shaping legal strategy and processes as the company continues to grow.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary attorney supporting A Mission-Driven Engineering Company supply chain and procurement team.
- Draft, review, and help negotiate a wide variety of domestic and cross-border contracts, including supply of goods, consulting, transportation, contingent workforce, lease, information technology, construction, and EPC agreements.
- Develop and maintain template agreements, playbooks, and database of contract clauses.
- Develop and implement contracting processes and related company training.
- Provide guidance on vendor engagements and respond to questions about NDAs, interpretation of contractual terms and conditions, and interpretation of company policies and procedures.
- Partner with internal clients to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and provide support for pre-litigation disputes.
- Stay abreast of relevant legal developments and market trends.
- Assist with other legal work as needed.
Qualifications:
- Current member in good standing with at least one state bar.
- 5 + years of legal experience.
- Substantial experience structuring, drafting, and negotiating sophisticated commercial contracts. Experience with intellectual property transactions is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to independently identify legal and commercial risks.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate effectively with diverse internal clients.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities, adapt to changing conditions, and navigate ambiguity.
- Ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.
