About the Position:
Attorney responsible for providing agency legal services and advice including litigation support; interpretation of federal and state laws and regulations, and reviewing and drafting agency procurement documents, leases, contracts, standard operating procedures, and administrative procedures, and other documents. The incumbent will work closely with General Counsel and other attorneys researching, analyzing, interpreting, and applying state, federal, and agency legal requirements; assisting with litigation when requested; preparing documents and instruments for administrative and executive decisions and actions; performing legal research; and preparing and reviewing legal documents applicable to the work of the Department of Transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:
Requires membership in the Mississippi State Bar Association. **Agency preferred qualifications: Must be an active member of the Mississippi State Bar Association. Minimum 3 years of experience as a licensed attorney. State Government legal experience (a plus). Property law experience (a plus). State Purchasing Law experience (a plus).
