Rockdale Judicial Circuit – Assistant Public Defender III
The Rockdale Judicial Circuit Public Defender's Office is seeking to hire an Assistant Public Defender III. Applicants must meet the qualifications and have the necessary skills to perform the job duties and responsibilities for this position. A strong commitment to indigent defense and client-centered representation is required. Applicant must have a Juris Doctorate with (5) five years of Felony Criminal Defense or Prosecution experience. Also, must have at least (2) two years Capital Felony Trial as First Chair experience. Applicant must be a current member in good standing with the state bar.

Description of Duties: The Assistant Public Defender III will provide competent and zealous representation and advocacy to indigent clients. This position performs as a lead attorney, assigned to serious, high-profile, and significant felony and appellate cases.

Minimum Qualifications
Juris Doctorate from an accredited college or university AND license to practice law in the State of Georgia OR eligibility to sit for the next Georgia Bar examination followed by Georgia Bar exam passage and licensure to practice law in the State of Georgia within one (1) year of hiring OR reciprocity AND Two years of relevant legal experience OR Two years of experience required at the lower-level Attorney 2 (LEP021)
