Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Associate General Counsel, the Associate Transactional Counsel will provide a broad range of legal analysis, services, support, and counsel, primarily in the areas of contracting, corporate governance, privacy, marketing, and intellectual property matters. They will work within this team to ensure overall legal department goals are achieved.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Analyze complex legal and factual issues, conduct extensive legal research
  • Draft and review corporate governance documents
  • Correspond with other parties' attorneys to negotiate contracts
  • Review, prepare and negotiate leases, settlement agreements, third-party contracts, and other commercial documents
  • Review marketing materials for compliance with state and federal laws
  • Maintain a contract database and monitor contract renewals
  • Review and respond to privacy rights requests.
  • Prepare IP filings as directed and respond to office actions
  • Work with key stakeholders in the company to address legal requests
  • Assist with litigation matters as necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements:
Education & Certifications:
  • Must have a J.D. License from ABA accredited law school
  • Member in good standing with the California State Bar

Experience:
3-7 years of general legal experience; construction, corporate and employment law is a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Must be comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment, wearing multiple hats, flexible attitude and quick to react
  • Must be able to communicate at a professional level with all levels of the company
  • Ability to meet deadlines and perform multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail
  • Excels under pressure in demanding, fast-paced environment
  • Bilingual is a plus; however, it is not required
  • Special Skills & Training:
  • Must have a valid CA Driver's License/Insurance and the ability to drive a personal vehicle to branches
  • Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills
