Description:

Provides healthcare law support in the areas of regulatory law and business and professional contracting with an emphasis on either major provider agreements, managed care, physician contracting and regulated transactions or device manufacturing, license agreements, intellectual property, and supply contracts.

Experience:
  • 4 years of experience in practicing law, with 4 years in healthcare including significant contracting responsibility
  • Experience in healthcare law and business

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a particular area of law applicable to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta
  • Knowledge of employment law, professional staff issues, FDA regulations, and physician contracting
  • Academic research

Education:
  • Juris Doctor degree

Job Responsibilities:
  • Provides counsel to system leaders and client departments.
  • Structures agreements between and among affiliates which support the services and functions of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and affiliated companies.
  • Adapts professional staff and other documents to changes in regulations, laws, and client practices relating to hospital administration and professional matters.
  • Represents client departments in negotiations and meetings.
  • Provides legal guidance, research, review analysis, and advice regarding all contractual issues presented by client departments.
  • Adapts contract templates and existing agreements to changes in regulations and laws relating to healthcare services and professional agreements.
  • Assists in presenting contract in-service training with the support and assistance of staff and learning systems.
  • Works with client departments to institute individual contracting responsibility programs unique to the needs of each department.
  • Works with outside counsel as assigned by General Counsel.
  • Strives to improve internal legal systems and processes.
