Description:

A Government Entity is hereby soliciting applications for the position of ASSOCIATE CHIEF JUDGE of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Court.

The compensation for the Associate Chief Judge and the number of hours, days of employment and are all negotiable. The terms of employment will be set forth in the negotiated agreement between the Associate Chief Judge and the Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Council. The Associate Chief Judge will be compensated on an hourly basis.

In order to serve as the Associate Chief Judge, candidates will need to meet the statutory perquisites outlined in Title I. Section 1-301 of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Code of Justice, which requires that the Associate Chief Judge: (1) must be at least 25 years of age; (2) must be of high moral character and integrity; (3) must never have been convicted of a criminal offenses, other traffic offenses, for which punishment of imprisonment was imposed; (4) must not have been dishonorably discharged from the Armed Services; (5) must be physically able to carry out the duties of the office and (6) must possess a degree of law from an ABA-Accredited law school and be a member in good standing of the Bar of any State or Federal court and shall become admitted to practice law in the Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Court as provided under Title I, Section l-601(a)

Applications shall be in writing and include a professional resume and legal qualifications. Applicants may also submit other documents, including a professional legal writing sample. All applicants will be considered on merit. The selected applicant will be subject to Tribal, State & Federal Criminal Background Checks.
