Eminent Domain/Condemnation experience is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and analysis on various cases and issues
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, and agreements
- Litigate cases in court and represent clients during hearings and trials
- Write legal opinions, memoranda, and briefs
- Assist with legal administrative tasks, such as organizing case files and maintaining documentation
- Collaborate with senior attorneys to develop case strategies
- Conduct negotiations on behalf of clients
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to the practice area
Skills:
- Strong research skills with the ability to gather and analyze information from various sources
- Proficient in legal drafting, including the ability to prepare accurate and concise legal documents
- Experience in litigation, including courtroom experience and knowledge of trial procedures
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts effectively
- Knowledge of legal administrative procedures and best practices
- Familiarity with conducting thorough legal research using resources such as Lexis-Nexis
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to advocate for clients' interests
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice law in Texas
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an attorney, preferably in a related practice area
