The Law Offices of A Full Service General Litigation Firm, located in the heart of Kennett Square, PA, are seeking applicants for an Associate Attorney position. Salary is commensurate with experience.Job Description:
- Manage individual case load and assist Partners with their cases
- Engage in all aspects of litigation across a range of practice areas, including domestic cases (divorce, custody, support, PFAs, adoptions, guardianships)
- This includes drafting pleadings, engaging in discovery, calculating and negotiating equitable distribution and support, negotiating custody agreements, attending conciliation conferences and support hearings, oral argument, judicial conferences, etc.
- Interact face-to-face with clients, attorneys, judges, court staff, and government offices on a regular basis
- New client acquisition once the associate is acclimated with the firm
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited law school.
- Must be licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania (Delaware and/or New Jersey would be a plus).
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Outlook.
- Must be proficient in client management and able to manage a case load while assisting other attorneys with their cases.
- Interest or experience in domestic work (divorce, custody, support, PFAs, etc.) is strongly preferred, as this is an area of practice we need assistance with.
- Experience with hourly billing preferred.
- The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can manage their day-to-day practice with little or no direct supervision.
- No prior book of business is required, but candidates seeking to bring established clients with them are a plus.
- Local candidates (in the Chester County area) are preferred.
