A Criminal Lawyer & Family Law Attorney is a criminal and family law firm in Georgetown, Texas. We are now accepting applications for a full-time associate attorney to litigate cases in Williamson County, Texas

Qualifications Ideal candidates will have 0-3 years of litigation experience handling:
  • Family law matters including divorce, enforcements, modifications, child support;
  • Criminal law matters including State & Federal misdemeanors and felonies..

Required Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor of Law, (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school;
  • A license in good standing to practice law in the State of Texas;;

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, the Texas Rules of Evidence, the Texas Penal Code, and the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure;
  • Proven experience providing a high standard of service and professionalism to clients, especially when there are emotional challenges;
  • Desire to think outside the box and work to find new solutions to fit a client's legal needs;
  • Experience with discovery, mediation, trial work, and mental health issues is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, TX eFile procedures, Dropbox, TXDOCS, Clio, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong ethical standards, work ethics, interpersonal skills, and willingness to learn and grow professionally;
  • Possess high-level verbal and written skills to effectively communicate with clients, attorneys, contractors, and employees;
  • Self Motivated;
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills;
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity

Job Duties include:
  • Managing a caseload and the professional legal staff assigned to assist your cases;
  • Drafting pleadings, motions, and orders;
  • Trial work;
  • Meeting all deadlines, including those placed on short notice (as the case requires);
  • Appearance in court;
  • Performing legal research using Lexis and other platforms;
  • Interviewing witnesses and working with experts on cases;
  • Preparing for trials, hearings, depositions, and mediations;
  • Assisting Senior Attorneys in complex cases.
